Cicada Street Dance Competition in October

Cicada Street Dance Competition 2010!

The Cicada Market in Khao Takiab, Hua Hin’s principle outdoor performance and arts venue, will host the first Cicada Street Dance Competition throughout October.

Starting Saturday October 9 and continuing through 16, 23, and 30 October), teams from throughout Thailand will compete for a 100,000 baht grand prize.

The competition will proceed by eliminations, with scoring based on various categories of Technique and Presentation. The final elimination on 30 October will also allocate points for Improvisation, Teamwork, and Creativity.

The stated purposes of the Cicada Street Dance Competition 2010 are:

1. To promote Street Dance as a branch of the Performing Arts.
2. To encourage young people to use leisure time well and avoid drugs.
3. To promote the process of learning, teamwork and creativity.
4. To be a space for expression for young people of ability.

Elimination rounds will be held at Cicada Market at 7:30 pm on Saturdays 9,16,23, and 30 October. With this kind of prize money, contestants are sure to work hard to give us all a great series of shows. This national competition is the first of its ever in Thailand, and is a big boost to Hua Hin’s reputation as a rapidly expanding center of creative activity.     I am looking for 4 dancers to learn with international dancer a burlesque dance to be shown at a 5 star hotel in January – training free
    also looking for firestick dancers and jugglers or any carnival type acts
