Art Exhibition: ‘Thai Spiritual Image’ at Galerie Boonchuay

Followers of this blog will be aware that we have quite a lot of art galleries in Hua Hin, and many fine local artists. However, it’s unusual for us to have a focused gallery exhibition featuring significant contemporary Thai artists from outside our own community.

That’s what Galerie Boonchuay have given us in their present exhibition titled ‘Thai Spiritual Image‘, running through 31 December at their gallery right on the centralNight Market.

11 artists from all regions of Thailand are represented, each with contemporary interpretations of spiritual themes. Most of the works combine traditional symbolism and graphic elements with distinct contemporary interpretations. All are impressive.

Galerie Boonchuay is located at number 70/6-7 on Soi 72 (aka Night Market Street, just a few doors from Petchkasem Road. It may appear a little bit low-key from outside, but you’ll be surprised to find 3 full floors of galleries inside. Go and have a look.

The phone number is 081 566 7008 and email is boonchuay2552@yahoo.com

Here’s a sampling of the artists and works on display (click to see a larger image):
