Wednesday 08 December

* Open jam session at Chez Lou Lou, next to the 7-11 store by the railway station on ‘Railway Road’. 8-11 pm. We had a great time last week. Let’s do it again!

Thursday Jam at Ray’s Place

We’ve reached the season of the year where Monday Night’s at Ray’s Place simply overflows its capacity, and so a 2nd night in the week is added on each Thursday for as long as the high season lasts. Generally, Thursdays are a bit less crowded and often more flexible musically. Come and enjoy. Ray’s Place Restaurant, intersection of Sa Song and Amnuaysin Roads (1 block North and 1 block West of the central intersection), behind the green building. Music starts around 8:30 pm.

Friday 10 December

* Bossa-Jazz Music at Cicada Market, Khao Takiab, 7 pm.

* Hua Hin Ensemble at Rest Detail Hotel, Soi 19 by the beach. 7-10 pm. Sophisticated jazz with Hua Hin’s home-grown jazz combo.

* Thai Acoustic Music. Friday and Saturdays from 8 pm @Plearnwan Vintage Village. Khun Oh and Chat come down from Bangkok to regale us all. They are quite good, and often have guest artists.

* Holiday Festival at 19 Rai park, near the beach between sois 19 and 35 across from Imperial Hotel. Food, music, rides, fun.










Saturday 11 December

* ‘Khad Taa Thap’ performed by artists of the Patravadi Theater group under direction of Patravadi Mejudhon at Vic Hua Hin. 7:30pm. See Hot Tickets.

* Holiday Festival at 19 Rai park, near the beach between sois 19 and 35 across from Imperial Hotel. Food, music, rides, fun.

* Cicada Market, as always, will have a show and lots of art, food, shopping, and other enjoyable activities. Still the best place to hang out in the early part of a Saturday evening. Starts around sunset and winds up about 10 pm.

* Chet Samien Arts Festival, at Chet Samien town and Suan Silp Baan Din in Ratchburi province. See posting here.

*Sunday Evening Jam at Cicada Market, Khao Takiab. 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Very nice music at the sunset time of day in Hua Hin’s nicest place to spend time.

Monday 13 December

* Monday Night at Ray’s. A Hua Hin tradition, open jam sessions every Monday in the high season at Ray’s Place Restaurant on Sa Song Road one block South of the Night Market. Music starts around 8pm and goes to 11pm. Food and drink available.

Tuesday 14 December

* Rock ‘n’ Roll Tuesdays with The Stone Band at Souay Vista Social Club on Soi 94 about 3/4 km from Petchkasem Road (don’t give up, it’s up there). 9:30 pm onwards

* Holiday Festival at 19 Rai, by the beach in front of the Imperial Hotel between sois 19 and 35. Food, rides, games, and entertainment.




Ongoing Stage Shows

Vic Hua Hin Theare presents cutting-edge drama and dance theatre every Saturday night throughout the year. Shows are professionally produced, either in-houseproductions or visiting theatre groups. Main show at 7:30 pm, preceded by dinner outside the theatre and usually pre- or post-show entertainments by students at Patravadi High School and/or visiting artists. Wonderful, high-level theatre.

Sasi Dinner Theatre, Thai Cultural Show. Nightly at 7:00 pm . A wonderful dinner and theatrical experience. Sasi Dinner Theatre is deeply committed to enriching Thai culture and tradition by developing and promoting the performing arts in Thailand. Highly recommended.

Cicada Market and Performing Arts Fair. The Venue@Suansri. Fri/Sat evenings from sunset to 12 pm, Sundays from 4pm; Dining, shopping, art, performances, and films in a beautiful park-like setting. A wonderful place to spend an evening.

Magic Show by nris at the Hilton Hotel, Naresdamri Road in the central beach area. Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sunday at 8:00. Tickets are 400 baht for adults and 200 baht for children. For information, call 083 503 0999.

Cabaret Show nightly at the Blue Angel Cabaret just off soi Bintabaht. Shows at 8 an 10 pm. Good fun and highly creative.
