To reach Coco 51 from the city center intersection (Hua Hin Crossing):
1. Proceed North on Petchkasem Road for approximately 1.3 kilometer until reaching Soi 51 (large street, no light) on the right.
2. Turn right onto Soi 51.
3. Proceed on Soi 51 for about 0.4 kilometers. After crossing Naebkehardt Road, Coco 51 will be on the left at the end of the soi.
A parking attendant is on duty when the restaurant is open.
Coco 51 is a fine mid-upper scale restaurant with live jazz every night. The food is excellent, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere lovely. The seaside location is one of Hua Hin’s original beach homes from the 20’s and 30’s, when the town was the darling of the Bangkok elite. The garden overlooking the sea is the main dining location, but inside seating is available. The food is a mix of Thai and Western food, with entrees ranging from 120 baht to a high of 799 baht, with most selections between 220 and 35o baht. Coco51 is the only place in town that has an all-jazz music policy, 7 nights a week (7 pm to 10 pm), high season and low. For this, they deserve a lot of credit. The musicians who play at Coco are consistently among the best in Hua Hin, and you can be assured of some tasty playing and singing when you go there. That said, it should be noted that the favored style of jazz is soft, non-threatening, and suitable for dining and conversation. If you had screaming sax’s in mind, forget about it here. The music is sophisticated, but soft. At this writing (July 2010) the house band is a duo of female vocalist Maraiya and excellent guitarist Uri. Well worth hearing.
Overall, Coco 51 is the kind of place you want to bring your friends when they come to town. It can not be faulted on any point except perhaps budget. If you’re strapped, go elsewhere. But if you have a little jingle in you pocket Coco will satisfy you for listening and dining, guaranteed.

I do not know whether it’s just me or if everybody else encountering issues with your blog. It seems like some of the text on your posts are running off the screen. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them too? This may be a issue with my web browser because I’ve had this happen previously.

You are right. It’s actually really difficult to make a page work on every browser and screen size. Most of the formatting is handled by the host, WordPress, and is not under the control of the author at all.
That said, as it says on the blog’s front page, this site is no longer being actively supported by me. I am leaving the existing content up for whatever value it may have.
btw, Coco’s continues to offer fine music and I can also recommend Cantalope Island and Mekong restaurants by the same owners. All of them offer quality and varied music. -The (former) Hua Hin Arts Guide.
